The Program

Semper Dental provides oral hygiene education and on-site dental van treatment services to a range of primary schools across greater Melbourne.

The preventative treatment services consist of a comprehensive examination followed by a scale, polish, fluoride application and fissure seals as required for each child.

The convenience of being carried out at the school makes it easy for parents to access the funding for the treatment provided at no cost under the Federal Government’s Child Dental Benefit Scheme. To be eligible for Medicare funding parents must be in receipt of the Family Tax Benefit Part A which is for families with income s of less than (approx.) $110,000.

If children are ineligible for treatment under the CDBS, Semper Dental will provide full treatment for $99.00, the cost of which parents may be eligible to claim as a rebate through private health insurance.

This is an important health initiative as many children would not receive any dental care if it were not for the service being carried out at the school.

Once treatments are completed Semper provides a written report to parents including any ecommendations for future treatment. These reports will be emailed directly to parents on the day of our treatment.

Dental Treatment Service Process following a commitment from your school

Agree on in school program in our mobile dental surgery.

Set date for commencement of treatments and estimate based on the size of the school how long the service will take to deliver.

Semper provides schools with flyers for parents explaining the program and text for school newsletter promoting the visit.

For schools using paper forms:

For schools using online consent processes

Semper Dental provides each school with a secure online registration link to share with families. Schools distribute this link through their usual digital channels, such as newsletters, parent portals, or email, and send reminders directly to parents to encourage registrations.

The online form allows parents to easily provide consent, student details, and medical information in one secure place. This streamlined process reduces paperwork for schools, improves accuracy, and ensures all required information is received before the visit — helping the day run smoothly for students, staff, and our dental team.

Finally

In both cases Semper will complete eligibility checking for children and prepare a spread sheet with the details of all children to be seen.

In cases where a child is not eligible and there has been no offer to pay parents will be contacted to remind them of the option to pay for the service.

Semper will advise school of the delivery schedule including the list of children to be treated and firm up arrangements including the number of days Semper will be on site.
